Hey Everyone!

Welcome to my blog. Here I will contribute my work to the likes of my passions, that are fitness, technology, career and gaming. I am not usually the kind of person to write about my life too much, because unless you're genuinely interested, you're better off giving me a facebook or a call to ask how am I doing!

So you decided to start your workout

So by reading this, I hope to hear that you are interested to start your workout journey. Before we begin I must digress, that I am no expert, and that I am just applying everything I have learnt from others and my studies on myself, in terms of nutrition, mental and physical health. I love to workout, and this blog is purely for motivation and direction. Suffer, but suffer smart.

Firstly you need to know a few things. Here's the Checklist.

Nutritional Basics for the Average Malaysian

Always know what you put in your mouth.....If you catch my drift.

I'm glad you have decided to stick around. Since gym and workout will primarily be what you will be doing to get stronger, it's still important that you understand the fundamentals of the importance of food and nutrition for the sake of your growth, and to stop you from becoming a little fat shit.

So yeah, you've been eating "right", googling the right articles, diet plans and even following examples your buff friends have gone through. But in the end you may realize your results are not as what you want it to be, for the following reasons.

  1. EACH BODY IS DIFFERENT. One guy's diet is not another's. Everyone is built differently and your body absorbs nutrients and food different from the other. Though we all have the same digestive system, we have different thresholds of what is filling for us.

     2. WE'RE IN MALAYSIA. Let's face it. Our beautiful country's pride is partly in our food. From the best 3-generation kuey teow passed over, to fish head curry so good that could make grown-ass men cry. 24-hour mamaks that purvey drinks so sugary and food so fried you're practically just eating oil and batter (fried chicken skin i'm looking at you! ) I'm not saying we shouldn't indulge, nor should we stop consumption immediately. All i'm merely hinting is that you try to substitute and moderate your intake, according to your goal. (Such as eating more for bulking/eating less for a calorie deficit). In simpler terms, burn MORE than you EAT.

I myself frequent the mamak, because it is cheap and I don't have to get my kitchen messy, and partially because there will be days I will be too lazy to steam my own chicken and oatmeal.

Here' what I usually eat at the mamak:
1. Chapati
2. Chicken Tandoori
3. 3-4 Half boiled eggs
4. Veggie soup
5. Hot barli/ Limau ice (both no sugar at all)
6. Lentil-based curries like dhall

3.YOU DON'T STICK TO YOUR DIET. There's diet plans all over the internet. Some make their own. But in the end, some don't commit and stick to what they preach. Any plan you follow, must have atleast one cheat meal. It's countless importance originates from the benefits it brings, both mental and nutritional. It stops the temptation to pig out, while still providing you the variety and access to your favorite foods. Pro tip: CHEAT ONLY ONCE-TWICE A WEEK. A daily one would negate all that exercise and workout you put in.
